Garden Sandwich

"The Garden"

Long, long ago, before life was digital (1979), I entered The Garden in the National Sandwich Contest. Those were the days when you had to be crazy to have a vegetarian item on a menu and even crazier to expect it to sell. As they say, the rest is history. The Garden has been the # 1 selling sandwich every day for almost 30 years. You are welcomed to make it at home or order it at Jimmy's Serious Sandwiches and find out what the fuss is all about. Oh, by the way, The Garden won the blue ribbon (aka 1st place) from over a thousand entries. FYI, the first contest winner was the Reuben.

  • ½ lb. mushrooms, sliced
  • ¾ cup alfalfa sprouts
